The Founding of Signing His Praises

PJ founded Signing His Praises in 2006. She started learning sign language when she was 12 years old. Later, as an adult, PJ enjoyed signing during worship service at church. It wasn't long before she had Deaf people asking her to interpret the service for them. Thus began her journey into the world of American Sign Language (ASL). She found the Deaf people at her church to be excellent teachers and ASL role models.

She soon realized that she truly enjoyed interpreting, and eventually became skilled enough to earn a living as a sign language interpreter.

PJ is now nationally certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and she still enjoys signing worship songs. She would love to share that joy with you, by connecting you with the resources you need to become a signer, and who knows, maybe even an interpreter some day.

If you already know some signs but would like to improve your signing ability, or learn the language of ASL, there are resources for you as well. Even those who are already interpreting in the religious setting can glean valuable information from this site.

PJ has had the opportunity to use and learn from many different sources. She wants to pass on to you those resources that she found most useful, and give you information that can help you in your selection of the resource that is right for you.

The ultimate goal is to create more resources for you to use, so stay tuned!

works of thine hands

thou shalt surely rejoice."
