Wow! Has it really been that long since I posted something here? It is amazing how fast time flies!
So much has changed
since I last shared with you. Of course, my pick for President didn't even make it to the election. Now that we have a
new President, I am trying to remember to pray for him often. Of course, that's what the Bible tells us to do. I hope
you are joining me in that.
For a long period of time, I was interpreting 60-80 hours a week. Of course, that explains
why I haven't been back here to update the blog lately. A few months ago, I started having problems with my hands (I guess
my body was telling me it would not cooperate in my working THAT much). `
So, our budget has been downsized tremendously.
We have moved to a smaller home. We have, like many people nowadays, learned to do without most of the lattes and fast food.
My new favorite website is www.rudder.com. It helps me track my spending and bill payments so that I don't run out of money before I run out of month.
I
now work at a job where I am able to interpret very little and spend much of my time doing management type work, which I really
enjoy. What a blessing!
Well, there are many more changes, but I won't bore you. Just wanted to touch base again.
Oh...and
while I have your attention, let me encourage you, if you are an interpreter or are looking into becoming an interpreter,
try to come to the RID Conference this year. You can't imagine how much you can learn by hanging around with 2,000 other
interpreters and attending some of the best workshops in the country. No, they didn't pay me to say that. ;) You can get
all the info at the RID website.
If you decide you are coming, let me know. I would love to meet you!
