Thursday, December 27, 2007 Happy New Year!Well, we made it through Christmas (which was lovely, by the way) and now
we are heading into another new year. We have some exciting things coming up here at Signing His Praises this year.
3:57 pm estWe have been diligently working on the site itself, updating information and looking for areas that need to be added. Now we are working on developing our own tutorials for you to use to learn ASL. We are hoping to start getting those online by the end of January. There will be a weekly 10-15 minute lesson. Each lesson will be simple and straight forward. You will have a week to practice what you've learned, and then come back for the next lesson. It's sure to be simple enough that anyone can stick to it...and challenging enough to ensure that you are comfortable communicating with the Deaf, in a limited fashion, in no time. Just posting this means there is now a fire under me to get it done...Oh Joy!!! So, stick around! Things are about to get really interesting. :) Monday, December 17, 2007 It's Almost Here!Wow! Can you believe that Christmas is almost here!?! I don't
know about you, but I'm definitely not ready. I have more presents to buy and too many presents that were already purchased
but haven't yet been wrapped. How will I ever get it all done on time? Of course, this is the first year that my work has been so high in demand. I will be working until midnight on Christmas Eve...and could work all day Christmas if I was so inclined. That certainly makes it harder to get everything done. Who would have ever thought that interpreters would be needed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year? My how things have changed since I came into this field! Well, whether you are an interpreter, a signer, or just beginning to learn about sign language, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a superb New Year!!! PJ
